ShortSirkit, an electro house heavy hitter, infuses the genre with fresh, vibrant energy. This Salt Lake City DJ and producer blends various genres to create a dynamic signature style that captivates audiences.
Living by the mantra, “Try it, and if it sounds good that’s all that matters,” ShortSirkit is a force behind the decks, cycling through over 40 tracks in an hour with seamless transitions.
Born Josh Lewis, ShortSirkit began as a metal band guitarist, moving around Utah and eventually joining the band Abidan. Despite local success, the band disbanded, but Josh remained determined to fulfill his late mother’s wish for him to make music work. His first rave at Dreamland 6 in SLC’s Salt Palace Convention Center led him to explore electronic music.
His frenetic energy as a guitarist translated into DJ skills, quickly getting him booked at local venues. Since his first professional gig at SLC’s Mojos in 2012, ShortSirkit has performed at major venues like The Complex, Saltair, and Club Sound. He’s also played SLC’s Foam Wonderland and Denver’s Mardi Gras by Nightsneak.
As a producer, ShortSirkit honed his style with tracks like “Masterclass” and the 2016 release “Night Sparks,” showcasing his evolved sound. Always pushing boundaries, ShortSirkit continues to captivate audiences with his innovative approach to electro house.
