Reno-based DJ FM MARC, the visionary behind DürtyNV, has been a force in the underground music scene since the mid-90s. His journey began at the legendary Homebase warehouse in Oakland, CA, where he first experienced the electrifying energy of world-class and underground DJs. It was at this iconic venue that FM MARC was introduced to the rave and techno culture that would shape his future.

In 1999, FM MARC decided to make his mark on the scene by becoming both a DJ and a promoter. Influenced by legendary DJs like Ron Reeser, David Garcia, DJ Dan, DJ Irene, DJ Sneak, J Sanchez, Frankie Bones, and Jesse Saunders, he sought to curate events that embodied the sounds that captivated him. “I remember my best friend Carlos Lemus introducing me to Frankie Bones and his Computer-Controlled series and it hooked me at that point!” FM MARC recalls, highlighting the moment that solidified his passion for music.

This dedication led to the creation of DURTY NV, a DJ collective that grew steadily, hosting underground events featuring renowned acts such as the Stanton Warriors and Joey Mazzola. FM MARC’s talent for curation has been evident in popular events like Neon, In Dust We Trust, and the Fur parties.

Beyond his work with DURTY NV, FM MARC has been a longtime contributor to the Evolution Immersive Arts Festival, where his influence continues to resonate. A regular at Burning Man and Reno burner events, FM MARC is always pushing the boundaries of the underground scene, with new projects and collaborations constantly in the works. His impact on the music world is far-reaching, and his journey is far from over. Keep an eye out for the next chapter in FM MARC’s evolving story.
